Ann Turkel
Presently, the actress and former cover girl lives in Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above left). The couple was married only 8 years before they were divorced for 20, but Ann Turkel is still struggling to accept the loss of her ex-husband, Richard Harris. Turkel was born in an ethnically Jewish family and raised by her mother in Manhattan. At she was 16 she was studying under Sanford Meisner and Philip Burton Both at the Neighborhood Playhouse as well as the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Her entire life she has been talented at entertaining. At the age of 5 she started dancing and continued to study art through her college period. She credits her mother for encouraging her artistic activity. Ann took classes in acting, dancing and vocal throughout her early years. The Pajama Game " and West Side Story were among her plays performed at the Berkshire Playhouse, Stockbridge in Massachusetts. Ann's appearance together with her group at an event for fashion was when Gloria Schiff, editor of Vogue Magazine, discovered Ann. In less than a week and a half, the editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland commissioned Ann to shoot her first Vogue Cover featuring photographer Richard Avedon. Ann was among America's most viewed models. She was featured on the covers of top magazines, including Vogue Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and numerous others. Ann was a successful model for various cosmetics companies like Max Factor Revlon, Chanel and Europe in Europe following two years.
